Hassan Nainia

Hassan Nainia is a Moroccan guitarist based in London England. Earning his stripes as an amazing musician, he tantalises listeners with his alluring guitar style.

As a musician, performing in live bands is not just about flaunting, it’s also about listening, and knowing where to place yourself within the music without overpowering the other instruments. Hassan knows how to fit into any style and add something special to the mix.

As a youngster growing up in Morocco, he was fascinated by the country’s traditional guitars such as the Guembri and loutar. He wasn’t in a financial position to buy a guitar, and so decided to construct his own with the use of wood, metal, fish line, and cable stretch. Mission accomplished, it was the start of his musical journey. He was charmed by the sounds of alluring Arabic music.

While in high school, Hassan performed with bands once a month, and as time went by, was awarded his first guitar by a cultural government association. Not being able to acquire a place at the Conservatory of Music, didn’t stop him from learning the skills of a guitarist. With an elevating passion and dedication to become a knowledgeable guitarist, he borrowed books from the library and dedicated his time to studying the fundamentals of guitar.

Over the years, Hassan has performed at a host of Moroccan Carnivals, festivals, and National events. After moving to London England, the musician has continued to perform live, with various bands at a variety of events.

With two bands, “Azawan Music with Brothers” and “Agmar,” both bands are developing their sound of Traditional Sahara music blended in their own distinctive way.

Hassan Nainia, is an amazing musician, with a humble presence. He stands as one of Morocco’s global music storytellers.
