Dili’C is an exciting Afrobeat/pop artist from Imo State Nigeria, whose upbeat songs are catchy, and melodic, His sweet smooth vocals, convey stories of love & life. 

Raised in the capital Lagos, the singer/songwriter relocated to South Australia in 2015. Stemming from the home of Afrobeats, he was inspired by the legendary Fela Kuti and Nigeria’s wide range of talented Afrobeat artists.

Keen to add himself to Nigeria’s musical talent, he is a dedicated artist, who puts 100% into his craft and has all the makings of an authentic Afrobeat artist. 

In 2017 he released his debut track “YOUR BODY” which roused a pleasant response from listeners, he later followed with the tantalising track titled “VANILLA.”

A natural-born storyteller, the singer/songwriter, creates engaging rapturous music.

Richly talented, the only way is up for this mesmerising artist. Dili’C is a Nigerian global storyteller.

NIGERIA

Nigeria is home to over 200 million people. Afrobeats, has become a large part of the country’s music scene. There is also an array of diverse traditional music from various cultural groups.

The creation of contemporary music in Nigeria drew its influences from various countries, such as, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, and Cuba. Many Nigerians were also inspired by music from the United States, Europe and Jamaica. Religious influences also came from Islam, and Christianity. Nigerian Gospel music has made a significant impact in the country.  

Looking back, it was artists such as King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, and Tony Allan, the Nigerian drummer of “Africa 70, who aided Nigerian music in becoming popular. Meanwhile it was Fela Kuti,’ who became the creator of “Afrobeat.” There is a difference between, “Afrobeat & Afrobeats.” All of the artists mentioned helped Nigerian music raise its popularity internationally. 

Afrobeats began to gain traction worldwide around 2010, with artists such as P, Square, Timaya, 9ice, Banky W, and D Banji, to name a few. Today, Afrobeats music has catapulted worldwide and has reached the same heights as hip-hop music. Artists such as Burna Boy, Wizzkid, and Davido, are internationally popular, there are many more to add to the list.
